Author Visit
What To Expect

The Mixed-Up Milky Way author visit is an immersive educational experience. Children will be welcomed and introduced to the author and to the book’s 3 main characters. The author will explain the events of the visit and what they can expect to learn. The children will learn about space, asteroids, and the asteroid belt. The author will show a short interactive video with an interaction between the author and two of the main characters, Orion and Nebula.  After the video the author will read the book (a few pages if the children are antsy). After reading the book, the author will answer children’s questions.

The children will be put into small groups, and each group will be sent to a station. After a few minutes (time will depend on the children’s attention span), children will switch stations, allowing each group the opportunity to visit each station. During this time the author will sign books or posters (posters provided by the author) and take pictures with the children. After everyone has had a Poster or book signed and a picture taken it will be time to say goodbye. Children will leave with a signed poster and a small goodie bag.

In the Cultural Center 4 stations will be set up for interactive, creative, and imaginative play. Three of the stations will be at three separate tables.
